Coenzyme Q10 is an important compound found in every cell of the human body. Similar to a vitamin, CoQ10 - as Coenzyme Q10 is also known - is an antioxidant that produced naturally by the body. It is stored in the mitochondria of your cells.

Mitochondria play two important roles in the human boy; producing the energy that the body needs and, because of the coenzyme Q10, protecting it against oxidative stress. CoQ10 also stimulates production of the compound that transfers the energy produced within the mitichondria. It is thus clear that without sufficient CoQ10 supply, one can’t be healthy.

Low levels of CoQ10 would cause mitochondrial malfunction, especially in older people. This can lead to cell death and the onset of conditions like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
