Hodgkin's lymphoma is a type of lymphoma, a cancer of lymphatic system, in which cancer originates from a specific type of white blood cells called lymphocytes.,. Hodgkin disease is most common in two different age groups: young adults (ages 15 to 35) and older adults (over age 50). It is somewhat more common in males than females, and more common in Caucasians than in African-Americans. It was named after the English physician Thomas Hodgkin, who first described abnormalities in the lymph system in 1832.
